On the Gore watch, I'm laying bets that he runs. It just looks like he's already running without saying so. And besides, Barack supports coal mining, a nod to the miners in southern Illinois. It'll be interesting to see how Gore handles that one in strip-mined Tennessee. Thanks for writing.

Keith:

Good post.
I may not buy Al Gore's full message (I've posted some links) but there's no reason NOT to take some of the energy saving moves.
Regardless of the causes of Global Warming, taking action to save bucks just plain makes sense. I, for one, have been using compact fluorescents for years in some applications.
Earlier this year we discovered dim-able compact fluorescents ... and are considering them.

But jump ahead... LED's, which I've been waiting for.
Researching these, I found several on the web, some dim-able and they trump fluorescents for power savings.
Still a bit pricey up front, but much much lower live cycle costs.
A bit of a stretch for home use, but look like a slam dunk for commercial

As for politics - I think you are on to something.
Hillary has "Bill Baggage" and Barak may prove to be "untested"
Edwards gaff on CNN, being a "me too" on Climate, but refusing to answer question on his own utility bills as they ran footage of his 10,000 sq ft (and still building) house. Finally saying "I think it's about $300..."

Keep up the good work(s)
Ciao
