Keith:
I coun't agree more. the ability to to take a jump ahead in this economy, stake a claim for forward thinking and the place to be because of of it, is offset by sheer redneck provincial little minds. this is much better place than those three that took us back 60 years.

R. Mervau,
The statements by these three are damaging for many reasons, not the least of which is how ideological and ignorant they are. It's reminiscent of leadership in the Deep South in the 1950s and 1960s, as the historic tide of racial freedom swept the region even as the ideologues tried to stand in the way. It hurt the South's ability to prosper. Our three commissioners are hurting this region's ability to adapt to new conditions, and damaging Michigan's reputation in the process. The answer is obvious. It's time for a change. Keith

Kieth, we are extremely embarrased that our "smartly" elected officials on the county level have taken such a dim-witted position. More sol since the city of Traverse City unanimously supported and initiative to try and reduce our impact toward global warming.

After e-mailing the the big gaseous orb in our solar system I received back a note saying; "...the sun is quite outraged for being blamed for your planets ills. We have tried to keep you on an even keel for a very long time. What is going on in that littel burg of Grand Traverse down there? Commissioner Wheelock, no doubt the brain-trust of Grand Traverse County government, and his two eco-scientific board members (Underwood and Thomas) have such great backgrounds and minds that you should be so proud.

We here on the sun will sit back for a while and see how you go, before we decide to burn a hole through your puny little heads. On the contrary, you'll probably do that yourselves, as we have witnessed the effect already on your leadership. "... singed, Mr. Sun

So gang if this is the best that Grand Traverse County has to offer up in the way of critical thinking and doing good things when it come to our environment and planet; then we have some deep problems. Remember this is the same group that want's to jam a public funded private parking structure down the throats of Traverse City residents, who already voted not to have it. So why should the county board members listen to anything any reasonable person has to say... Well, I think I''ll head over to Sonny Wheelock's in my jacked up Nova, get out a hunting riffle and ask Ms. Underwood if she wants to go looking for socialists and if Mr Thomas wants to bring his cups and string along so he can stay in contact with Mr. Sun.
